Admission
Please complete the following checklist to apply for admission:
1. An application must be completed by the student, parent and student's home school. The appropriate forms can be downloaded from this WebSite.
2. Clark Corporate Academy must receive the complete application packet before the application can be processed.
The following items must accompany the application.
Current school's principal's recommendation.
Copy of birth certificate and Social Security Card.
South Carolina Completion of Immunization Form along with other pertinent health information.
Copy of academic transcript, grade card and most recent report card.
Copies of ALL standardized test results (grades 1-present) i.e. HSAP/PACT.
Copies of all psychological testing or placement records.
Copy of the discharge summary or a report from any mental health professional or community agency that the student has received services from in the past three years
Complete discipline record
Attendance record
Academic Plan, if applicable
Current 504 Plan, if applicable
WE NEED ALL OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION BEFORE WE CAN SCHEDULE AN INTERVIEW.
3. The Clark Admissions Committee will hold an interview with the student and parent/guardian.
The Admissions Committee may consist of:
Clark Corporate Academy Guidance Director.
Clark Corporate Academy Faculty Member or Support Staff member..
Representative(s) from appropriate social agencies, as determined by the Principal.
A Charleston County High School Principal.
The Principal of Clark Corporate Academy.
4. The referring school principal will be notified of the status of the application, after the interview is completed.
Admissions Eligibility Criteria
The student must:
Possess an average range of intelligence and ability to successfully complete a high school program of studies
Have met 8 th grade promotion standards to allow for graduation by age 21. Administrative promotions will not be accepted.
Have demonstrated socially appropriate behavior that is consistent with the philosophy of Clark Corporate Academy.
Demonstrate the ability to function at or near grade level.
Desire to change and accept responsibility for some of the circumstances of his/ her past
Owe no fees, equipment or material to any school.
NO STUDENT WILL BE ADMITTED WHO IS CURRENTLY EXPELLED OR BEING RECOMMENDED FOR EXPULSION.
Other considerations include:
The student's academic and vocational goals.
Parent's / guardian's willingness to support and work toward the student's goals as well as the goals of Clark Corporate Academy . The parent / guardian and the student must sign a contract stating that they understand and will support these goals so that their child may continue to be enrolled at Clark Corporate Academy.
Parents/guardians are required to participate in a minimum of one parent workshop or school function each year their child is enrolled. |
