Clark is a unique program within the Charleston County School District (CCSD) geared exclusively to help overage, at-risk students earn the credits they need to receive a South Carolina high school diploma. In addition to core academic classes in math, English, social studies and science, Clark offers electives that include PE, art, Spanish, and computer applications. Students are also strongly encouraged to participate in credit recovery and acceleration opportunities available during and after school. Clark students remain "tied" to their home schools; where they can participate in sports, clubs, and extra-curricular activities.
Our Students
There is no one kind of student who attends Clark. Some come to Clark after dropping out of their previous schools. Other students come to Clark because they find their home school too big and want a smaller atmosphere. Still others choose to attend Clark because they can make up credits they lost in previous years. Regardless of the reason for attending, the faculty and staff of Clark strive to meet the individual needs of students.
