Breaking News: We are now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year!
Septima P. Clark Academy (Clark) is an academic alternative program for high school students in the Charleston County School District (CCSD). Designed for students who have fallen behind in their studies, Clark offers small class sizes and the individual attention that many students need to succeed in high school. In addition to core academic classes in math, English, social studies and science, Clark offers a limited number of electives, credit recovery classes and other acceleration opportunities.
Unlike most high schools, Clark is not organized by grade levels (ie. 9th grade homerooms, 11th grade activities, etc). Instead, students are scheduled according to their individual needs and all students participate in activities regardless of their age or number of credits. The sense of togetherness and shared purpose are important reasons why Clark students are so successful.
